The National Quantum Coordination Office (NQCO) has adopted several policies to ensure that the Quantum.gov website and its publications provide accurate, unbiased information to the widest possible audience. PRIVACY POLICY

The NQCO collects no personal information about you when you visit the Quantum.gov website unless you choose to provide that information to us.

If you are visiting our site to read pages or download information, we will gather and store certain information about your visit automatically. This information does not identify you personally. We automatically collect and store only the following information about your visit:

  • The Internet domain (for example, “quantum.gov”) and IP address (an IP address is a number that is automatically assigned to your computer whenever you are surfing the Web) from which you access our website
  • The type of browser and operating system used to access our site
  • The date and time you access our site
  • The pages you visit
  • If you arrived at the gov site via a link from another website, the address of that website.

We use this information to help us make our site more useful to visitors — to learn about the number of visitors to our site and the types of technology our visitors use. We do not track or record information about individuals and their visits.

The NQCO participates in the government-wide Digital Analytics Program (DAP), which uses JavaScript-based tools provided by Google Analytics to collect the website visitor information listed above. If you request information or services from the NQCO and submit personal information to facilitate response to your request, we use the information provided to respond to your message. We will not share the information you give us with another government agency unless your inquiry relates to that agency, in response to law enforcement requests, or as otherwise provided by law, nor do we share personal information with non-government organizations for commercial marketing or other purposes.

We restrict access to personally identifiable information to employees, contractors, and vendors subject to non-disclosure requirements who require access to this information in order to perform their official duties and exercise controls to limit what data they can view based on the specific needs of their position.

 

SECURITY

This website is part of a Federal computer system used to accomplish Federal functions. Software programs are used to monitor this website for security purposes to ensure that it remains available to all users and to protect information in the system. By accessing this website, you are expressly consenting to these monitoring activities.

Unauthorized attempts to defeat or circumvent security features, to use the system for other than intended purposes, to deny service to authorized users, to access, obtain, alter, damage, or destroy information, or otherwise to interfere with the system or its operation is prohibited.
