Overview
The National Quantum Initiative Advisory Committee (NQIAC) is the Federal Advisory Committee called for in the National Quantum Initiative Act. The NQIAC is tasked with advising the President, the National Science and Technology Council (NSTC) Subcommittee on Quantum Information Science, and the NSTC Subcommittee on Economic and Security Implications of Quantum Science and make recommendations for the President to consider when reviewing and revising the National Quantum Initiative Program. The NQIAC is also tasked with submitting reports to the President and appropriate committees of Congress on their independent assessment of the National Quantum Initiative Program, including any recommendations for improvements. The NQIAC consists of leaders in the field from industry, academia, and the Federal laboratories.
The NQIAC was first established by Executive Order 13885 on August 30, 2019 and subsequently enhanced by Executive Order 14073 on May 4, 2022, which elevated the committee to a Presidential advisory committee.

Quantum Networking: Findings and Recommendations for Growing American Leadership
The NQIAC published its second independent assessment of the National Quantum Initiative program, focusing on quantum networking and the role that testbeds play in research and development of quantum networking technologies. The report identifies six findings and seven recommendations for growing American leadership in quantum networking.
Renewing the National Quantum Initiative
The NQIAC published its first independent assessment of the National Quantum Initiative program, including recommendations for enhancements to the Program. The report, titled Renewing the National Quantum Initiative: Recommendations for Sustaining American Leadership in Quantum Information Science, identifies three findings, four overarching recommendations, and nine detailed recommendations.
